Lucy and Neil’s Humanist Wedding at Lulworth Castle
Riding on a dark horse our valiant Groom Neil rescues his Princess Bride Lucy from the clutches of the evil dragon of conformity. Ok, it was a Jaguar and he arrived at the castle first…but don’t split hairs. They did steer clear of convention. A humanist ceremony, sharing the same wedding car of a friend and the best bit of garden games I’ve seen at a wedding in ages. The best bit is that guests actually played with them. Result. After a divine bridal prep in Wareham at The Priory the party really started at the gorgeous Dorset wedding venue of Lulworth Castle. Apart from attending Camp Bestival I had also been there for a church wedding on the grounds a year before. This time it would be a Humanist ceremony in the great hall which is an exceptional location for a wedding. The forecast was for unbearable heat and that forecast was pretty accurate. But what any forecast can’t tell is the unique landscape that Lulworth sits on. The sweeping descent of open land heading towards sea gave the entire back of the castle a delightfully cool ocean breeze. So despite the temperatures it never felt crazy hot. A true gift when you are wearing a three piece suit or a full length wedding dress. Some delightful speeches, a ‘cool’ crowd and a crazy band led to an amazing day for Lucy and Neil at Lulworth Castle. Thanks for letting share the day with you.
