Laura and Neil – Floral Magic at Rivervale Barn
Having only ever been to Rivervale once before (and in November) I had high expectations of what it was going to look like. The gardens at the back are truly sensational, the work of many years of skilled hands. So when I woke to find the forecast was for rain from right after the ceremony I was a little bit gutted. I took the opportunity to arrive a little bit early, before the rain commenced, to take some location images of the barn. This gave me a great insight into all the locations, the colour and the floral explosion that was going on outside. Weddings are, however, all about people and this day did not disappoint. The sense of calm in Laura was obvious. This always bodes well. I wouldn’t say Neil was calm but he wasn’t nervous. He has an infectious smile that makes you want to smile too. A beautiful ceremony, with tears and laughs led to an indoor reception. Sadly the rain had arrived. However, this didn’t stop Laura and Neil from joining me outside for at least a few images in the garden. Good luck struck come the early evening when the rain stopped and an enthusiastic couple wanted to revisit the garden. I was so glad. Not only for me but for them. The garden in full bloom is such a narrow window of opportunity I’m glad to see damp ground didn’t put them off. Thanks for having me on what was an amazing day!
