Laura and Jon – Easter Wedding at The Barn at Bury Court
Oh man! What a day. For so many reasons. I had met Laura and Jon the previous October for a short getting to know you pre wedding shoot around the lake here in Petersfield. Laura is a born model. She has the moves and the looks. Whilst Jon would agree with me on Laura (and in reality, how couldn’t he) he would probably be the first to admit that his ‘moves’ are a bit shy of Laura’s. Most Grooms are. This is a challenge I love. Guide him and he will rise to the challenge too. That he did and that put us in a great position for the big day (in fact, check out that gorgeous black and white of him in the Bridal Portraits…pure class on his part). I arrived NICE AND EARLY (a joke intended to an exceedingly polite Bridemaid who diligently checked on my progess as I was making my way to the venue). There I found Hannah Berry doing her magic and the gaggle of ladies in the Oast House getting all the final details sorted. An emotional meeting between Laura, her Mum and Dad, quickly gave way to wonderful ceremony where Laura never took her eyes off Jon. I think Laura’s Dad’s heart rate is still high as he look decidedly more nervous than she did. After a dash of confetti (indoors at Bury Court) it was time for hugs and high fives as the courtyard filled with well wishers. The gardens are just starting to come to life and it was lovely to be back at a venue I’m lucky enough to recommended at. Speeches started the wedding breakfast with tales and stories from both Laura’s Father and Jon. A two course break gave way to an unconventional turn with Laura’s Maid of Honour delivering a hilarious speech with professional comedian style timing. Live at the Apollo had begun and quickly followed by the Best Men who even had Jon downing Cuervo! Many thanks to Hannah Berry, Bury Court, Jacaranda and Sliding Vinyl for being such an awesome team to work with. Happy Days!
