Kate and Max – February Wedding in Surrey
I’m sure Cheryl Crow’s song didn’t go “The First Wedding is the Happiest”. But she should have. This is the wedding of Kate and Max and my first for 2015. Setting a tone is important and if this is anything to go on this year is going to be epic. I started with the girls at The Crown Inn in Chiddingfold whilst Darren met the boys in The Star Inn in Godalming, just a few paces up from the church. I had an amazing time working with Kate and girls, all the while being made to feel like one of the family. That is so important to feel welcome. Once we learned to tie Kate’s father’s cravat and the dress was on it was to Godalming to the church of St Peter and St Paul. This classic building is one of the finest churches to work in. I love to ‘leading lights’, something you’ll see at least twice in the slideshow. After the ceremony (and a good helping of confetti down Kate’s dress) it was time to move on to Gate Street Barn. Unsurprisingly it was my first visit back to Gate Street this year and it was like going home. I love working there and luckily I’ll be there a number of times this year. The joy of being a recommended photographer at Gate Street. Chinese New Year played its part just as Hong Kong played a part in their lives. The Pheasantry hosted a beautiful drinks reception before speeches commenced the wedding breakfast in the main barn. The fantastic Tandem Catering delivered as usual. The evening was punctuated by a Ceilidh led by the amazing event band, Rollercoaster. Bring on 2015!
