Jen and David – November Wedding at Brympton House
Arriving at Brympton House, I was already in a relaxed, end of 2015 wedding season mindset. I was coming to a venue I adore, shooting for a couple that I had met back in the summer during an engagement session and knew I had a nice little holiday back to the States booked in a few days time. Its one of those days that just fly by, that feel good, that feel warm (even when the weather is cool, that make you so happy to be a wedding photographer. Darren did his usual and disappeared with the guys and I met up with Jen, her Bridesmaid and mum in the Bridal Suite. Jen had told me in the summer her dress was ‘different’. Right she was. Starting at the bottom you wouldn’t notice anything too different, but drift higher and soon you realise that the top was black! Love it. A black and white dress for a November wedding, with a table plan themed on Game of Thrones. This was always going to be great! Jen’s hair instantly reminded me of Amy Winehouse. Her vintage earrings adding to the glamour of her look. The civil ceremony took place in the ‘chapel’ on the grounds. A beautiful stone room with a ceremony led by a wonderful registar who made everything unique. The weather was cold and at times wet so the drinks reception and family groups took place indoors. But the ‘great hall’ (not sure what they call it there) was awash with natural light and good times. I did manage to get outside for a few images of the couple as the light faded. After speeches and a fantastic wedding breakfast the party moved to the Orangery where evenings guests, typically sedate and laid back, were actually primed and ready for a great time. A full dance floor followed by a tunnel of sparklers and 2015 ended on a super high. If Carlsberg made weddings.
