Gordon and Mandy’s Spring Wedding at Hampton Court House
The more things change the more they stay the same. With what seems like more and more wedding venues opening their doors to the public there are still a few that simply can’t be beat. Classics that provide an amazing location, fantastic light (its all about the light people), some seriously great ‘quirk’ and red walls. Yes, I’m talking all about Hampton Court House. By day its a private school. But on the weekends and holidays its one of the area’s best wedding venues. Mandy and Gordon (with Gordon’s keen eye for imagery no doubt) took full advantage of this lovely location. I met Mandy, her father, sisters and Bridesmaids at their house in Cobham. I can tell you this too was a wonderful location. But I couldn’t wait to get to Hampton Court House. The north light that floods in from the 12ft high windows creates the most beautiful location for a ceremony. Mandy’s arrival was simply gorgeous and the ceremony that followed equally so. One of the many bonuses of such a fantastic venue is that when the wind turned a bit cold and everyone made their way inside it, I find it a bonus. The ceremony room now converted into a reception space the light continues to dominate. Add in a guest list looking to have a fantastic time and it was delightful to shoot. The wedding breakfast, fantastically delivered by Emma and her team at Acclaim led to some wonderful, heartfelt speeches. Plus one that taught us all how Gordon can never be trusted with a map. A wonderful day!
