Gaynor and Jamie’s Christmas Wedding at Tithe Barn
Some weddings just make you all giddy inside. Whether its the location or the time of year or people that are involved. But what happens when you’re lucky enough to get all three. Goodness me. This is exactly what happened to me when Gaynor got in touch earlier this year to ask me to photograph her wedding at Tithe Barn. I had known Gaynor for a number of years. She used to work at Tithe Barn and we got to know each other professionally through the many couples I had photographed there in the past. I got to know just how vibrant and happy Gaynor was through this and it was then no surprise the wedding would have near enough 200 guests in attendance. What I didn’t know was just what a compliment Jamie would be to Gaynor’s effervescent personality. I met Jamie for the first time in the weeks running up to the wedding. I got the luxury of travelling in a proper Land Rover to survey the church. I felt so country. Gaynor did throw up a number of little surprises. FIrst selecting a ceremony start time of 3:30 near the shortest day of the year. Naturally she didn’t organise the rain but it added to the ‘fun’. Then, after I spent a few minutes discussing how the light from the table cloths would bounce off creating some lovely portrait light for the wedding breakfast she informs me she decided on black table cloths. Oy vey!! Of course all of this creates opportunities. See a challenge as a chance to excel and then it all becomes a quest to beat the system. I love beating the system. But more than that, I loved being there on Gaynor and Jamie’s amazing wedding.
